General Policies of Obstetrics-Gynecology Ward
The Obstetrics-Gynecology Ward is a Rooming-In Unit and will accommodate parturient and post-partum mothers, normal or operative and their infants. It is under the joint charge of the Consultant-In-Charge, Resident-On-Duty and Senior Nurse.
To maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of this unit, the following policies must be strictly complied:
Cleanliness shall be observed at all times. They are to dispose their garbage at existing garbage containers inside and outside the hospital premises.
The OB Ward is a Rooming-In Unit, No nursing/feeding bottles will be allowed in the ward. Security Guards are authorized to confiscate any baby feeding products brought inside the hospital.
Personal belongings/valuables of watchers/patients are their responsibility. The nursing staff will not be liable for loss or damage that may be incurred.
No folding beds, tables and chairs, or any electrical devices will be allowed inside the Obstetrics-Gynecology Ward unless absolutely needed upon approval by the Charge Nurse.
Long staying patients (5 days or more) should be advised to consult with their Physicians and the Social Service Worker regarding their discharge.
Visiting hours should be strictly observed (11:00AM - 1:00PM and 5:00PM - 7:00PM). Male/Female visitors should enter the ward one at a time. In cases where the need to visit during non-visiting hours arises, visitors can be granted access after coordinating with the Charge Nurse.
For operative patients, watchers will be limited to one female watcher per patient. They should be healthy/responsible adults. For cases needing two watchers, permission may be granted by the Charge Nurse.
Watchers will be provided with Identification Tags (Watcher’s ID) to be worn at all times while inside the ward. Lost ID shall be charged with a fine of Php 100.00 to be paid at the Cashier.
Watchers/Visitors are not allowed to sleep, eat, wash, and take a bath inside the ward. Watchers may deliver food for their patients only.
