Ospital ng Palawan bagged two awards in the recently-concluded Inter-Hospital Volleyball League, held from May 12 to July 21, 2022 at Sports Complex, Bgy. Sta. Monica, Puerto Princesa City.
The annual tournament has finally resumed after two years of suspension due to the pandemic. It was participated by various healthcare organizations such as Palawan Medical Representatives Association, ACE Medical Center, Palawan Medical Mission Group Multipurpose Cooperative (PMMG-MPC), Adventist Hospital Palawan (AHP) and Ospital ng Palawan (ONP).
After more than two months of vying for the championship, the ONP team placed 1st runner-up in the men’s category and 3rd runner-up in the women’s category, while AHP and PMMG-MPC won as champions for this year’s competition. Though victory has not been attained, the team shared a fun and memorable game with the players from other medical institutions, adopting the value of sportsmanship and camaraderie, which has been the ultimate goal of this activity.
The success of the team was also made possible by the support of the Medical Center Chief, Dr. Melecio N. Dy, sports coordinator, Dr. Michael John R. Atencio, coaches, and colleagues, who were always present and energized in boosting the confidence of the players every game night.
